Questions
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to give my name or contact details to see quotes?
No. To get quotes, we ask only for gender, date of birth, your general health, tobacco use, the amount of coverage you are considering, and the term length. Those six facts are enough for the carriers to quote you. Your name, address, phone number and email are only requested if you decide to apply.
Are the monthly prices shown the price I will pay?
These are the rates carriers quote for the health class you select. The final premium is set after the carrier completes underwriting, which may confirm your class, improve it or adjust it based on additional information. The quotes shown on this site are for comparison only and are not a guarantee of the price you will pay. Coverage, rates and eligibility are determined by the carrier.
What happens when I click Apply?
Clicking Apply opens a secure application prefilled with the answers you gave here, and the application runs on the carriers' platform. You can stop and resume at any time, and you sign electronically. The application is handled by Susman Insurance Agency, a California-licensed insurance agency with License 0B75129.
Will I need a medical exam?
It depends on the carrier, the amount of coverage you select and your answers. Some carriers offer accelerated underwriting for applicants in certain age and amount ranges and skip the exam for eligible cases. Each quote on this site tells you whether an exam is required, possibly required, or not required for that specific carrier and product.
Is a longer term better?
A term should match the years when losing your income would create hardship for the people who depend on you: a mortgage that runs 25 more years, or children at home for the next 15. Longer terms lock in your rate for longer, which costs more per month but is cheaper than buying a shorter term and renewing it later. The quote tool lets you compare 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 year terms from every carrier side by side.
Does this site sell my information?
No. The quote tool requires no contact information. We don't sell or share your personal information.
